Do you think 2010 Soccer in S.Africa will be ok.?

Does the world know that 20′000 people are murdered a year in Violent crimes, more than 30′000 women raped a year, over 20 armed robberies a day in one area. Do they know that politically South Africa is unstable can’t handle themsevles, never mind 400′000 tourists who don’t know about the crime and violence. 1 policeman is killed per day.

No. There’ll be lots of corruption which will make the Italian scandal look like a drop in the ocean!

South Africa marks 50-day countdown to World Cup
Chief local organizer Danny Jordaan marked the 50-day countdown to the World Cup on Wednesday, saying the tournament was one of South Africa’s “most important defining moments.” Jordaan said hosting soccer’s showcase tournament was one of a series of “significant moments that have shaped the country we live in today,” comparing it to Nelson Mandela’s release from…

With the beginning of the school year being upon us, it means the 2010 soccer recruiting season is also here. If you are trying to make the jump from a high school soccer player to the college level, you need to have a plan in place to make sure you can be recruited in 2010.

As all years are, the 2010 soccer recruiting season will be filled with players who reach their goal of playing in college, and those who fall short. The difference between these players usually comes down to whether or not they get noticed by college coaches.

Don’t get me wrong, there will always be the blue chip or elite level players who automatically get the attention of college coaches. In fact, these players can have coaches camping out on their front lawn until they make a decision about where they will play college soccer. However, these types of players will only make up about 2% of the 2010 soccer recruiting class.

For the remaining 98%, being recruited is not automatic. These players need to do everything they can to grab the attention of college coaches. Not only the coaches at the soccer power house schools, but coaches at the lower divisions of college soccer also.

College soccer scholarships are not only available at the Division I level, they are available at the Division II, NAIA, NCCAA (Christian Colleges) and junior college levels (grant-in aid). Many players limit themselves to Division I only and they miss out on great opportunities to potentially play at smaller schools.

To give yourself the best chance in the 2010 soccer recruiting season, you need to take control of your own recruitment. The best way to do that is to make direct contact with college coaches. Decide which level of college soccer is right for you and then start making contact with those coaches. The results may surprise you!
